New Pokemon Snap: Every Request In Shiver Snowfields (Night) & How To Complete Them

There may not be quite as many, but the LenTalk photo requests found in New Pokemon Snap‘s Shiver Snowfield (Night) course are every bit as enjoyable as some of those found in the course’s daytime variant. Players will have to explore just about every inch of the snowfields to complete them all and will also need to unlock both of the course’s alternate routes.

There are 11 requests in total, although at the time of writing only ten of them can actually be completed due to a bug caused by New Pokemon Snap‘s Day 1 patch. Most of the others can only be tackled at research level 2 or higher, which means players will need to accrue a fair amount of expedition points before they can even try. A few of them can be a little tricky, but they’re arguably worth the effort due to the unique photo opportunities that they provide.

The Howling at the Heavens request is fairly easy to complete and can be tackled at any point after players have visited the course for the first time. Once the request has appeared in their LenTalk menu, they’ll need to follow the default route as usual, while paying close attention to the Furret that’s being chased by the pack of Mightyena as they do.

Upon reaching the top of the steep hill near the beginning of the course, the Mightyena will chase the Furret onto a ridge slightly to the players left. It’s fairly easy to spot, but for those having trouble, they can simply look for the Delibird that’s walking along the very same ridge. Once the Furret is at the top, players should hit it with an Illumina Orb so that it flees and then get a shot of the Mightyena howling after it is gone.

Due to an issue caused by the game’s Day 1 patch, it is not currently possible to complete the Proud Warrior request while playing on version 1.1 of New Pokemon Snap. Assuming that Nintendo and Bandai Namco eventually get around to fixing the problem at some point though, it will be a fairly simple request for players to complete.

At research level 1 or higher, players will need to make their way to the top of the steep hill near the beginning of the course and then look for a small hole on the right hand wall. After finding it, they’ll need to throw in some Fluffruit so that a Furret comes out. Before it can tuck in to the fruit, however, a Braviary will swoop down and claim the Fluffruit for itself. Players will simply need to take a photo of it doing so to fulfill Todd’s request.

To complete the Whiteout request for Rita, players will need to have unlocked the course’s first alternate route and be playing at research level 2. Immediately after passing the first snow wall near the start of the course, they should see a Crabominable and will need to throw a few Illumina Orbs at it just before it reaches the tree to the player’s left against which an Abomasnow is sleeping.

If timed correctly, the Crabominable will punch the tree with enough force to knock some snow onto Abomasnow’s head. This will startle the Pokemon and cause the angry giant to use Blizzard. Capturing the moment on camera will be enough to complete the request, although while players are here, this would also be a great time to tackle the Beyond the Wall of Snow request if they haven’t already.

The A Safe Place to Sleep request can only be completed at research level 2 or higher. Players will need to be following the default route and, upon reaching the large cave at the bottom of the second steep hill, should look for a small tunnel on the right hand wall. If they’re having trouble finding it, performing a scan should reveal its exact location.

Sleeping near the entrance of this tunnel, they’ll find an Alolan Vulpix and will need to snap a picture of it while it’s still asleep to complete the request. It is possible to wake it up with an Illumina Orb if players really want to, although the picture that’s handed in at the end of the run will have to be of it sleeping to fulfill the request’s requirements.

The location of the Present for a Friend request is very near to the spot where players find the sleeping Alolan Vulpix for the A Safe Place to Sleep request and so it makes sense to complete them both at the same time. Either way though, players will need to make their way to the large cave near the course’s default exit and then look for the second tunnel through the wall on the right side. Scan won’t help this time, unfortunately, but it should be fairly easy to spot.

As they approach the entrance to the tunnel they should throw a Fluffruit or two and then wait for a Delibird to come out. After it appears, throwing another Fluffruit nearby will cause the Pokemon to pick it up and put it in its sack. Players should give it a second Fluffruit and then use the Melody Player. If successful, the Delibird will reach into its sack and offer one of the Fluffruit to the player and it’s at this point that they can snap the four star photo that Rita has requested.

Players will be able to complete the Like Powder Snow request from research level 1 onward, but will need to wake up a Frosmoth or two in order to do so. There are two of them clinging to walls near the steep hill that leads down into the large cave on the default route and another one inside the cave itself. They can be a little difficult to spot, so those having trouble should use scan to pinpoint their exact locations if needed.

Hitting any one of these three Frosmoth with Fluffruit will cause it to fly away and then show up again in the area immediately after the cave. Once there, players just need to hit one of them with an Illumina Orb so that it uses Blizzard and then snap a photo of it doing so to fulfill Todd’s request.

To complete the Beyond the Wall of Snow request, players will need to unlock the first alternate route in the daytime variant of the course and then follow it into the area with the Crabominable and the sleeping Abomasnow. Hitting the former with an Illumina Orb will cause it to wake the Abomasnow up which will in turn cast Blizzard and summon a Froslass.

Capturing the moment that Abomasnow uses Blizzard will fulfill the Whiteout request, but to complete Beyond the Wall of Snow, players will need to get a shot of the newly arrived Froslass. After being photographed once, the Froslass will pass through a second wall of snow which unlocks another alternate route for players to follow in both the day and nighttime versions of Shiver Snowfields from here on out.

The With Their Powers Combined request becomes available at research level 2 and is one of the more frustrating requests in Shiver Snowfields (Night). Players will need to pass through both snow walls into the icy cavern and look for a sleeping Jynx on their left. Hitting this Jynx with a Fluffruit will wake it up, but there’s still a lot more work that needs to be done to get the picture that the Professor is looking for.

Once it’s awake, players should start throwing Fluffruit to lure the Jynx to the Crystabloom over to its right, being sure not to accidentally hit it as they do so. When it gets close enough, it will perform a pose similar to the other Jynx that’s nearby and it’s at this point that players should illuminate the Crystabloom. If timed correctly, the pair will both raise their arms and crack open the ice and players can get a shot of this to fulfill the request.

To complete the A Sheer Face request, players will need to pass through both of the snow walls and then make their way to the frosty shoreline near the alternate exit. Once there, they’ll see an Avalugg swimming from right to left and will need to keep an eye on its movements from here on out. It will eventually climb onto the ice and start walking directly towards the NEO-ONE and it’s here that players need to act.

They’ll have to land a Fluffruit directly on the Avalugg’s back in such a way that it stays there rather than falling off. It might take a few attempts, but as soon as one sticks, the Avalugg will raise itself onto its hind legs so that the Fluffruit slides off and players can grab themselves a four star photo when it does this to complete the Professor’s request.

There are two Aurorus in the Snowfields (Night) course, both of which can be photographed for the Shades of Aurorus request. The first is encased in ice in the icy cavern beyond the second snow wall and will need to be freed by the two Jynx as part of the With Their Powers Combined request. Photographing it as soon as it emerges will be enough to complete the request, although players can get the shot that they need a little more easily if they’re not in the mood to manipulate an uncooperative Jynx.

Over on an iceberg to the right of the alternate exit, there’s another Aurorus wandering around aimlessly. If players feed it a Fluffruit, its fins will briefly change color and players can get a shot of this happening to complete Todd’s request. Once players have freed the other Aurorus, they will both show up in this spot, although it doesn’t matter which one players photograph providing that its fins are glowing when they take the shot.

Before players can get the Legendary Pokemon Suicune to show up, they’ll first need to complete the game’s main story. They’ll also have to unlock both of the course’s alternate routes as well as reaching research level 2. Once that’s all taken care of, they’ll then need to head to the frosty shoreline near the alternate exit and look for a Jynx riding on the back of an Avalugg off in the distance. Once it’s out on the water a little, hitting it with an Illumina Orb will cause it to raise its arms in the air and finally summon Suicune.

Any picture of Suicune will do for the request, but to get a four star shot, players will need to hit it with an Illumina Orb as it runs across the water towards the shoreline. This will cause it to stop near the Delibird and it’s at this point that players will be be able to hit it with another Illumina Orb so that it uses Blizzard. Capturing its use of the move on camera will provide them with both a four star photo for their Photodex and the picture required to complete Rita’s request.
