Home » What Destiny 2 Players Need to Do Before Season 13 Ends

Destiny 2’s current Season of the Chosen is coming to an end with Season 14 about to start. For many players, preparation for Season 14 has already begun, but some players may need a bit of direction to help prepare themselves for the upcoming season in Destiny 2.

Over the years, Guardians have developed a ritual of sorts that at the end of one season, where they prep for the next season, stocking up on bounties and finishing any quests they may have left to do. Guardians wanting to start strong in Season 14 will need to prepare themselves now by completing any seasonal quests they may have not completed. This includes the Destiny 2 Seasonal Challenges for Bright Dust, as well as finishing the seasonal story content from Season of the Chosen. When players have finished the current seasonal content, they can start preparing for Season 14.

First and foremost, players should finish any seasonal Destiny 2 triumphs that have not been completed. For Destiny 2, Guardians wanting to gain the Chosen Title, but they should take this time to complete any of the triumphs needed to complete the Seal and get the Chosen Title before Season 14 begins.

That comes with finishing the current Season 13 Season Pass and claiming its rewards, too. There are useful resources near the end of the Season Pass, such as Ascendant Shards that will help the player stock up their resources before Season 14 starts. The Season Pass also holds high-stat-rolled armor that will help players in Season 14.

Guardians looking to maximize their resources will want to stock up on planetary materials, resources such as Legendary Shards, Upgrade Modules, and Ascendant Shards. This will allow Guardians to upgrade any Season 14 gear they get early on.

Plus, it’s a good idea to dismantle all shaders. In Season 14, the current shader system is being retired and all shaders will be converted into unlockables instead of the current consumables. Guardians should dismantle all their shaders before Season 14 and cash in on the resources available for dismantling shaders.

Guardians who have hit the Glimmer cap may choose to stockpile Glimmer in their vault. While Guardians cannot directly stash Glimmer in the vault, they can purchase multiple copies of The Otherside Sparrow and store them in the vault. This will cost some Legendary Shards and Glimmer. When dismantled, the sparrow will return some Glimmer to the player, although this is not ideal unless Guardians are already hitting the Glimmer cap. This allows Guardians to have a stockpile in case they find themselves Glimmer broke from upgrading items at the start of Season 14.

Storing bounties is a good way to store XP for the upcoming season. By completing bounties but not turning them in, Guardians can store XP to be cashed in at the start of Destiny 2 Season 14. Storing XP in this way allows Guardians to get a head start on filling out their Season 14 Season Pass and start unlocking more Seasonal Artifact upgrades.

It should be noted that Seasonal Bounties will probably expire at the start of Season 14, so players should focus on Vanguard, Crucible, Variks, Gambit, and the Moon Bounties. From here, Guardians can focus on planetary bounties and bounties from Spider. Weekly bounties grant the most XP and should be prioritized over daily bounties. Doing the things above such as completing Seasonal Triumphs will give Guardians the best start possible in Season 14.
